How To Install Your Own WordPress Blog
Apr 22nd
When you get to the point of needing your own website one of the easiest ways to secure your presence online is to install a WordPress blog.
With all of the different themes available today all over the internet you can make your web site look any way you want.
In this particular instance I’m not talking about a hosted blog on WordPress.com but your own website on your own domain.
There are a couple of things you will need to do before you can carry out
this procedure:
- Keyword research
- Decide on a domain name
- Get your own hosting account
- Point your name servers
It’s important to decide on a market, or niche prior to buying your domain name. If your site is related to one particular niche, carry out keyword research so that your domain name contains the keyword or some of the important words in the key word phrase.
For example if your site is about dog training, which is a fairly broad term, then try to get a domain name that contains the phrase for instance “dogtraining.com.”
Next set yourself up with a hosting account, there are many good ones to choose from. If you search on Google you can usually find discount coupons for these services and you should be able to secure yourself hosting at a reasonable rate.
Your hosting company will send you a welcome e-mail which will list your domain servers (DNS), take this information back to your registrar, log into your account and change your name servers to point them to your new hosting company.
This may sound complicated but you are just telling your registrar where your domain name is hosted.
You will also need the username and password from your welcome e-mail to enable you to log into your c panel. Please keep this information is safe but easy to find.
To log into your c panel type www.yourdomain.com/cpanel into your browser window.
So if you’re at this point congratulations you now have your own domain name and hosting account. Click on the video below to see how easy it is to install WordPress on your new domain.

How to check your on page SEO.
Learning how to check your on page SEO can save you a great deal of time when trying to rank in Google. Sometimes it’s a good idea to take a good look at the source code of your websites and pages to make sure that your page is correctly optimized for your selected keyword phrases.
The main areas to take note of are the title, description and keywords.
If you are using Word press it is a simple matter of login in to your admin area, going to settings and checking out the all in one SEO setttings.
The title, keywords and description appear in the boxes at the top of the page.
One of the easiest ways to check the quality of your on page settings is to use a program that rates your page and tells you what you need to adjust in order for your page to look it’s best to Google and the other search engines.
In order to download this program; you will need to give your name and email address in the required fields, but this is a small price to pay for this excellent SEO program.

How to check your SEO competition.

Learn how to check the search engine optimization of your competition.
One of my methods to generate income is to sell affiliate products on a small website which is optimized for a particular keyword, keeping the scope of the site down to a narrow focus of information targeted on that keyword.
One of the mistakes, sometimes made, by followers of this method is to do insufficient research into their competition. It is vital to analyze the websites of the top companys on the first two pages of Google to see if you have a reasonable chance of ranking.
So here we are:
- You have identified a hungry crowd.
- So you have found a product that is in demand.
- You have found a company willing to let you sell this item for a commission.
- You picked a niche by drilling down until you found buyer keywords.
Well, at least you think that they are buyer keywords. You have several of these keywords with good search numbers and low competition.
You are fairly new to this affiliate marketing thing and right now you don’t have the cash for a fancy key word tool with all of the bells and whistles. Perhaps you have tried a free trial, like I did, with market Samurai.
For FTC purposes….I am not affiliated, I just use it !
The problem is that once the free trial has ended, although you can still use the keyword analysis feature for free, most of the SEO analysis features no longer work.
So what can we do?
Personally I think that market Samurai is a great tool and I was reluctant to give it up, so I looked for another tool to work in conjunction with its free function to give me a better means of assessing the SEO competition.
On the video below check out this other free tool and learn what to look for when analyzing the SEO set up of your top competitors on the 1st two pages of Google.
